CONSUMER COMPLAINTS | DIVISION OF CONSUMER AFFAIRS 

Reviews customer issues regarding home improvements, furniture purchases and misleading advertisements. Investigators are assigned to all cases which fall within the jurisdiction of the department. Consumer Complaints also monitors the proper disclosure of refund policies in response to complaints and investigates to ensure compliance with the County's Deceptive Trade Practices regulation. Intake personnel verify the licensing status of contractors and supply callers with information regarding the amount of complaints against a company within the past 5 years and if the complaints are open or closed.
