Description

Youth Employment Service (YES) is a free program of the Ithaca Youth Bureau. Our mission is to empower teens to grow into flourishing adults. We meet teens where they are and connect them to opportunities to work, grow, and lead in their community. Our three core program elements are YES Connect, the YES Summer Jobs Program, and Ithaca Youth Council Ambassadors.YES Connect. For teens in Tompkins County ages 14-21. Teens receive one-on-one job assistance, access to resources including a teen specific Now Hiring List, workshops, resume development, and interview prep.YES Summer Jobs Program. Subsidized jobs program serving ~ 185 teens in Tompkins County every year. Eligibility is based on a combination of municipality of residence, family income and first-time worker status (full details can be found on our website). Teens work up to 120 hours over six weeks at one of our 70 different community worksite partners, while receiving ongoing evaluation and support, as well as access to paid training.Ithaca Youth Council Ambassadors. Nominated group of teens focusing on peer-leadership and civic engagement. The mission of Youth Council Ambassadors is to listen and speak for the youth in Tompkins County.
