Engages residents, private industry, and community-based organizations in reducing and preventing shootings and violence. Outreach workers serve as peer mentors for a caseload of high-risk individuals who they work with on a regular basis to reach potential perpetrators, identify the core reasons for gun violence, and assist them to obtain needed services such as job training and drug abuse counseling.
