Recruits volunteers from the Ithaca and Cornell communities to translate and interpret in emergency and non-emergency situations. Individuals proficient in English and a another language are certified by TIP to serve translators/interpreters for community agencies. Certification includes: passing certification test by a language professor attending mandatory workshop about potential emergency and cultural situations signing a confidentiality agreement protecting the privacy of client and agreeing to have their information available on the TIP website for agency useOrganizations signing an agreement with TIP can seek translators through the online database.
