Provides crisis intervention and support services to anyone who is a survivor of sexual assault or domestic violence and to their families. All services are confidential. Trained counselors are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to provide information and support, enabling clients to make informed choices concerning medical, legal, and counseling needs, while offering advocacy and information about their rights. Counselors offer short-term counseling (6-8 sessions); medical, legal, and court accompaniment; crisis intervention for sexual assault survivors and their significant others; support through medical examinations and treatment; advocacy and support during interaction with law enforcement; individual consultations with professionals; community education programs; professional training programs; and referrals for additional needed services. Serves as the point of contact for domestic violence shelter placement in Wyoming County.
