CHALLENGE AND ADVENTURE PROGRAM (CAP) | RAMAPO FOR CHILDREN

September through June, offers school and youth groups three-day, residential experiences designed to build community, increase self-confidence and self-awareness, strengthen peer leadership skills, and promote personal growth.CAP is an outdoor education and recreation program that challenges youth to go beyond their limits, to work with others to solve problems, and to experience individual and group success. The program curriculum consists of a variety of activities including high and low rope courses, trust-building initiatives, swimming, boating, hiking and orientating as well as group seminars and journaling exercises. The Ramapo staff strives to create an experience that is appropriate for each group's specific goals. Adult supervision by representatives teachers, parents, social workers of the sending organization is required.

RAMAPO FOR CHILDREN

Ramapo for Children is a nationally recognized residential program which serves children, ages 4-16, with a wide range of emotional, behavioral and learning problems. Camp encourages character values such as honesty, concern for others, responsibility and the courage to do one's best. Ramapo operates five distinct programs, several year-round, which provide a safe, predictable, and highly structured environment while fostering the development of positive social and learning skills. The programs are Camp Ramapo, Ramapo Training, Staff Assistant Experience and Retreats. Ramapo's 240 acres campus in Rhinebeck, New York includes more than fifty buildings, several miles of trails, a freshwater lake for swimming and boating, several outdoor challenge courses, a health center, an amphitheater and year-round residential lodge.
