COMMUNITY EMERGENCY RESPONSE TEAM | NASSAU COUNTY OFFICE OF EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT

Provides a training program that prepares you to help yourself, your family, and your neighbors in the event of a disaster or emergency. CERT members can give critical support to first responders and provide immediate assistance to their community. The CERT program builds strong working relationships between emergency responders and the people they serve. CERT members may also help with non-emergency preparedness projects that help improve the overall safety and quality of living within their community. CERT teams can assist their community year-round by helping with community emergency plans, neighborhood exercises, preparedness outreach, fire safety education and workplace safety.
