DIAGNOSTIC AND EMERGENCY GROUP HOME | HOPE FOR YOUTH

Provides 12 co-ed beds to youth in need of either a diagnostic evaluation, emergency placement, or a crisis/preventive respite stay. The youth are supervised 24 hours a day in a professionally staffed setting and are engaged in an academic program during the school year. Evaluations provided include psychological, psychiatric, psychosocial, and substance abuse risk assessments as needed.

Eligibility

Adolescent males and females ages 13-17 years old at the time of intake. Referrals can be made through the Department of Social Services (Nassau/Suffolk), Probation (Nassau/Suffolk), Family Court (Nassau/Suffolk), the Crisis Respite Bed Network.

Provides programs for children, youth and families including Diagnostic and Emergency Services for ages 6 months-20 years. ) Non-Secure Detention for Suffolk County Probation youth, Adolescent Group Home, Foster Homes (can accommodate therapeutic, regular and emergency foster care), Preventive Services (Nassau and Suffolk County Intensive Case Management and Multi-Dimensional Family Therapy. PINS Diversion Clinical Services), and the Family Service Center (outpatient chemical dependency for youth substance abuse clinic) Referrals accepted from Department of Social Services and Department of Probation for both Nassau and Suffolk County, Family Courts, and Mental Health Crisis Respite Bed System.
