2-1-1 Tompkins/Cortland handles all phone registrations for mobile distribution events in Tompkins County. Currently, one distribution in Freeville on the second Tuesday of each month. Registration begins one day prior, either online or by calling 2-1-1 or 877-211-8667. Distributes food to people in need through more than 160 food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters and other hunger relief organizations six counties.Administers several direct service food distribution programs including the food "BackPack Program" and Mobile Food Pantry.BackPack Program requires very specific foods. Kid-friendly Nutritious: at least 8 items, 2 Proteins, 2 Grains, 2 Dairy & 2 Fruits or Vegetables Individually packaged, unbreakable Small and light enough to carry Shelf stable Easy to prepare, even without a stove (or in some cases a can opener)Mobile Food Pantry The Mobile Food Pantry program brings fresh produce, dairy products, and other food and grocery products directly to distribution sites where people need food. When the mobile food pantry truck arrives at a site, volunteers place the food on tables surrounding the truck. Clients are then able to "shop", choosing items that they need.

Application process
For non-profit agencies that distribute food to low-income or at-risk individuals - Membership application is required. The Food Bank accepts applications for new partners twice a year, from December 1-January 31 and from June 1-July 31. The link below will be active during those windows.https://forms.gle/5Cc2XDTp9XMskzpTAPlease note that agency partnerships must be fully operational for three consecutive months before your program can be considered for partnership with the Food Bank. Partnership with the Food Bank is not required of all food programs - there are a number of programs throughout the Southern Tier that are independent of Food Bank membership - but is highly beneficial.
Eligibility
The Food Bank supplies non-profit agencies providing food to low-income or at-risk populations. We also provide food directly to people at risk of hunger via the BackPack and Mobile Food Pantry programs.
