Eligibility
Persons suffering financial hardship who are unable to pay their rent or mortgage, and are facing eviction or foreclosure, may be eligible for this program. FEMA allows individuals with extenuating circumstances the opportunity to request to register for disaster assistance for up to 60 days after the deadline, providing the request clearly demonstrates circumstances beyond the applicant's control which prevented them from applying during the registration period.
