Offers the Automotive Technical Training program. Western Suffolk BOCES is accredited by the Council on Occupational Education (COE) and the Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Education Foundation. Upon successful completion of this full-time program at Western Suffolk BOCES’ Northport campus, you will have acquired the skills needed to work in an auto dealership, auto repair shop or similar setting as an entry-level automotive technician. To be admitted to the Western Suffolk BOCES’ Automotive Technical Training program, a student must first earn a successful score on the Test of Basic Education (TABE). The TABE test covers basic math computation and reading comprehension; A student must meet one of the following criteria: Proof of a U.S. high school diploma or GED® or An authorized evaluation of credentials if credentials are from another country; Personal interview. After individual review of the student’s ability to succeed, we may recommend a period of remediation before entry into the program and New students must attend a 4-hour safety orientation before beginning this program.

Offers programs for high school students and adults so they can learn the skills that are needed in today’s workplace. Learn technical skills such as how to operate or repair a computer, how to design a building or an evening dress, or how to color hair or troubleshoot a problem with your car. And, you will gain the non-technical skills to be a useful and successful team member wherever you work. Wilson Tech and Western Suffolk BOCES offer both part-time and full-time adult education classes. We can help you: Learn a new skill; Prepare for certification or licensing; Plan for a promotion; Change careers or Build skills for that first job or a rewarding avocation. For High School students Wilson Tech can help students get a head start on their future by learning skills that employers need. Juniors and seniors in the 18 school districts in the townships of Babylon, Smithtown and Huntington can attend Wilson Tech. Students who choose a career and technical education program attend their home school for half a day and are bused to Tech for the other half of the school day.
