ENVIRONMENTAL TECHNICIAN PROGRAM | JOSEPH M. BARRY CAREER & TECHNICAL EDUCATION CENTER
Designed in partnership with key industry employers, this 60-hour training program provides the skills and knowledge required to perform entry-level environmental technician jobs and gain opportunities for growth at environmental services companies. Course study incorporates 40 hours of OSHA HAZWOPER training and 20 hours of skills and career path exposure. Our students benefit from industrial connections, on-site technical training, and job related certifications in order to become more knowledgeable, and successful employees. Our English as a Second Language (ESL) courses are for students whose native language is not English and want to improve speaking, reading and writing skills. Our High School Equivalency program prepares students to earn a New York State Equivalency Diploma by successfully completing the New York State Testing Assessing Secondary Completion (TASC®) exam. Instruction is based on the content of the test, which includes Math, Reading, Writing, Social Studies and Science. Our programs for Adults with Disabilities providing training for adults and youth who are looking to enter the job force for the first time or want to make a career change.
