Family Reading Partnership provides a wealth of programs to surround families with stories all year long!- The Nook at Family Reading Partnership is a fun and relaxing space designed with families in mind. It is open 10am-6pm Monday and Tuesday and 10am-4pm Wednesday-Friday. All caregivers and children under five are invited to come visit to play, read, and relax together, free of charge!- Bright Red Bookshelves in over 50 locations in Tompkins County offer free, gently used books for children to take home and keep.- 7 Story Walks across Tompkins County with new books posted at each site every few months so families can visit again and again for a new adventure!- Books to Grow On gifts new books to all families from before birth through age five at a pre-natal medical visit, all child well-visits to Tompkins County medical providers, and at Kindergarten registration.- Traveling Books provides a volunteer reader and rotating collection of books to daycare providers throughout and beyond Tompkins County.Many small programs specifically serving under-resourced community members via the Tompkins County Whole Health, department of Social Services, The Child Development Council, and others.

Application process
Most programs do not require enrollment, unless offered in partnership with another organization that requires program enrollment to receive services. For the Talk, Sing, Read, Play with me program, participants can be referred by partner agencies or families may contact us directly for information.

We achieve our mission by: Bright Red Bookshelves in over 50 locations in Tompkins County offer free, gently used books for children to take home and keep. Traveling Books provides a volunteer reader and rotating collection of books to daycare providers throughout and beyond Tompkins County. Every Baby, Every Day Talk, Sing. Read. Play initiative, funded by the Park Foundation, gives gentle suggestions to caregivers to engage together with the children in their lives through books and playful communication. Programs include: Read-to-Me Banners, Changing Table Chats, Read-Along Love Songs for Baby, and Shop for Words. Story Walks being added in all areas of the County as an active and fun way to promote reading and family interaction. Many small programs specifically serving under-resourced community members via the Tompkins County Health Department, The Child Development Council, and others.
