Offers a Clinical Medical Assistant - Intensive program. This program will help you start a career in medicine as a Clinical Medical Assistant and take your first steps in a job opportunity program. Prepare for the Certified Health Professionals Certification exams to become employed as a Medical Assistant, Electrocardiograph Technician or Phlebotomy Technician. The 160-hour clinical externship springboards you into starting your career. Study human anatomy, medical terminology, hematology, phlebotomy, and electrocardiography. Learn the skills to assist with medical emergencies, physical exams, and laboratory testing. Perform live venipuncture and capillary puncture procedures. Professional skills to assist in medical offices, hospitals and health care facilities will be taught along with a 160-hour supervised clinical externship rotation. This is provided by partnering hospitals and medical facilities on Long Island. Meet with Employment Center counselors for job opportunities. Also offered is CPR and OSHA-10 Courses. Instruction is based on the content of the test, which includes Math, Reading, Writing, Social Studies and Science.
