BUDDY MENTORING PROGRAM | LONG ISLAND COUNCIL ON ALCOHOLISM AND DRUG DEPENDENCE
Offers a community based mentoring program to children, ages 4-18, living in Nassau County who have a parent or close family member currently incarcerated. Trained adult mentors meet regularly with individual children, participate in activities, provide guidance and support with the goal of developing a trusting relationship. Aims to bolster self-esteem and improve quality of life through access to a range of professionally delivered health, mental health, social and financial services.

Eligibility
Children ages 4-18 who live in Nassau County with an incarcerated parent or family member. Mentors must have a clean driving record and access to a vehicle. An interview and screening process are required with a one year commitment of a minimum of four hours per month.
