COMMUNITY LEGAL HELP PROJECT | MIDDLE COUNTRY PUBLIC LIBRARY

Offers free limited legal advice and assistance on topics including child support, custody, divorce, domestic violence, school discipline, education services, foreclosure, bankruptcy, consumer protection, debt collection, housing, immigration, public benefits, social security, health insurance, criminal records and more. These services are provided free of charge by the following agencies: Community Legal Advocates of New York, Empire Justice Center, Liberty Defense Project, Legal Aid Society of Suffolk County, Long Island Advocacy Center, Nassau Suffolk Law Services, Suffolk County Bar Association, and Touro Law Center.

To ensure access to justice in all New York State Courts for people of all backgrounds, incomes, and special needs, by using every resource, including pro bono programs, self-help services, and technological tools, and by securing stable and adequate non-profit and government funding for civil and criminal legal services programs.
