Does Not Cover Cortland County Residents Access to Home grant: helps frail elderly and people with disabilities make exterior and interior modifications to their homes, e.g., installation of ramps, lifts, handrails, expanded doorways for wheelchairs or walkers and adaptive modifications to kitchens and bathrooms. These grants are available to mobile home owners even if they do not own the property on which the home sits. Home grant: No age restrictions; covers a home's interior and exterior. Property is inspected; work is put out to bid to contractors on the approved contractor's list. Lengthy process, but homeowner rarely needs to pay anything. Also covers mobile home replacements for families who own the property on which their current mobile home sits. Gross annual income limits, depend on household size. Affordable Housing Corporation grant: No age restrictions. Bishop Sheen pays 60% of the cost of one major repair; homeowner or another agency pays the remaining 40%. Open to mobile home owners if they own the property on which the home sits.
