Continuing to strive to meet the needs of district residents with a variety of worthwhile courses, workshops and seminars. Sample semester courses include: Basketball for Men, Belly Dance, Ceramics, Crochet, Economics, Financial Workshop, French Travel, Hatha Yoga, How to Work with Google Drive, Intermediate Italian, Introduction to Computers Using Microsoft Office, Knitting, Microsoft Office Advanced, Pickleball, Photography, Soccer for Men (indoor), Small Business Administrative Help, Beginner Spanish, Intermediate/Advanced Spanish, Stretch and Tone with Essentrics, Tai Chi Chi Kung, Watercolor and Zumba Gold. Also offered are Seminars/Food for Thought programs which include: How to Excel in Interviews, It’s Not What You Say – It’s How You Say It, Navigating the Medicare Landscape, Savvy IRA Planning for Baby Boomers and Social Security Planning. Please note: senior citizen discounts do not apply to seminars. There are also courses offered through Western Suffolk BOCES, including Adult Basic Education (GED) and classes in English as a Second Language. Course offerings vary each semester. Fees are set for those residents aged 60 or over (except for those classes marked limited or no senior district), Fees are for other district residents and additional fees for those living outside the Huntington School District.

Eligibility

Primarily for adults in the community, but is open to those as young as 16 years of age wherever space exists, with the exception of basketball and where otherwise indicated.
