Victim Witness Services Bureau - Erie County District Attorney
Trained Advocates provide the following supports to crime victims and witnesses: - Direct comprehensive and holistic support services for all crime victims, witnesses, and their family members - Crisis intervention and supportive counseling - Information and education for navigating the criminal justice process and victim rights - Accompaniment and case updates for all court proceedings - Information and referrals to needed community services and counseling - Assistance with completion and filing of crime victim compensation claims through the NYS Office of Victim Services - Submission of Victim Impact Statements for sentencing - Follow-up with probation/parole/correctional process - Designated assistance for families of homicide victims and special victims (victims of child abuse, sexual assault, and elder abuse) - Specialized Domestic Violence Services (see separate listing for BE SAFE Domestic Violence Program or call 716-858-4630)
