COMMUNITY SERVICES PROGRAM | HELEN KELLER NATIONAL CENTER FOR DEAF-BLIND YOUTHS AND ADULTS (HKNC)
Assists individuals who are deaf-blind in learning daily living and communications skills. Assesses individual's mobility and vision needs providing both training and customized mobility tools. Provides vocational assessment, job readiness training and job placement. Refers individuals to appropriate government programs and services. Services are provided in individuals' homes, work sites and communities.

HELEN KELLER NATIONAL CENTER FOR DEAF-BLIND YOUTHS AND ADULTS (HKNC)
Provides diagnostic evaluation, short term comprehensive rehabilitation training, and vocational preparation and placement for adults who are deaf-blind. Services include 10 regional offices, over 40 affiliated agencies, a national training team, services for older adults who are deaf-blind, a community services program for the greater metropolitan area, and a national consortium on deaf-blindness. The center also maintains a national registry of persons who are deaf-blind, and is part of DB-LINK, the national information clearinghouse of children who are deaf-blind.
