COURT APPOINTED SPECIAL ADVOCATES (CASA) | GREATER MENTAL HEALTH OF NEW YORK

Provides specially trained volunteer advocates to assist children who are abused or neglected and usually in foster care or are at risk for foster care placement. CASA volunteer ensure that the child's medical care, mental health, and educational needs are met and help the court determine the best interest of the child. Volunteers typically work with one or two families, devoting time and energy to assist the court and child welfare system in making the best possible permanent plan for the child.

A community based not-for-profit mental health agency that delivers a wide array of person-centered and recovery oriented services, professional and community education and advocacy. Services include licensed out-patient clinics, housing, vocational support, ACT team, Northern Westchester Recovery Network, Westchester Recovery Network, Family Support, Sterling Community Center, and OnTrackNY (for young adults in the first year of psychosis). Services are available for all ages and are offered on-site at OMH licensed clinics as well as in home and community settings.
