Serves attorneys Cayuga, Chemung, Cortland , Schuyler, Seneca, Steuben, Tioga, Tompkins and Yates Counties through: establishing and directing policies and issuing policy statements on issues of local significance, especially those relating to women lawyers and women generally, and bringing such issues to the attention of the Women's Bar Association of the State of New York for further endorsement and action cooperating with, aiding and supporting organizations and causes which advance the status and progress of women in society encouraging education of lawyers; promoting improvement in the administration of justice conducting Continuing Legal Education sessions and monthly member lunches with speakers on pertinent topics.Offers free Health Care Proxy Assistance (by appointment) the second Tuesday of the month at the Cancer Resource Center, 612 West State Street from 4:30 to 7 pm. The Finger Lakes Women's Bar Association, a chapter of the Women's Bar Association of the State of New York, ratified in March of 2007, serves attorneys in the nine counties of Cayuga, Chemung, Cortland , Schuyler, Seneca, Steuben, Tioga, Tompkins and Yates. The purposes of the FLWBA include:(a) to establish and direct policies and issue policy statements on issues of local significance, especially those relating to women lawyers and women generally, and to bring such issues to the attention of the Women's Bar Association of the State of New York for further endorsement and action;(b) to cooperate with, aid and support organizations and causes which advance the status and progress of women in society;(c) to encourage education of lawyers;(d) to promote improvement in the administration of justice.The FLWBA offers free Health Care Proxy Assistance (by appointment) every second Tuesday of the month at the Cancer Resource Center ( 612 W.
