Offers Job Placement and Vocational Training Programs for adults with disabilities and out-of-school youth who are looking to enter the job force for the first time or want to make a career change. Specific service include: Job placement; Job readiness; Career Awareness; Vocational Training and Work experience Training. These programs are funded through State Education Programs, Local WIAO Programs, as well as self-pay options. (You must qualify for payment by Agencies). To register, you can be referred by one of the following agencies, ACCES/VR, The Town of Oyster Bay, The Town of Hempstead, The Department of Veterans Affairs, or a school district or contact the Career & Employment Center office. Offers programs that provides industry-aligned career training and experiences empowering adults by assisting them with acquiring the employable skills necessary to assimilate into the 21st-century workforce. Our students benefit from industrial connections, on-site technical training, and job related certifications in order to become more knowledgeable, and successful employees. Our English as a Second Language (ESL) courses are for students whose native language is not English and want to improve speaking, reading and writing skills. Our High School Equivalency program prepares students to earn a New York State Equivalency Diploma by successfully completing the New York State Testing Assessing Secondary Completion (TASC®) exam. Instruction is based on the content of the test, which includes Math, Reading, Writing, Social Studies and Science.
