COMMUNITIES OF COLOR PREVENTION - STAP | SOUTHERN TIER AIDS PROGRAM DBA SOUTHERN TIER CARE COORDINATION

Aims to help reduce HIV/AIDS and STD rates among black, indigenous & people of color. Educates clients about HIV, STD's and Hepatitis C as well as treatment options and safer sex practices. Works with clients to set and meet personal goals. Offers free male/female condoms; free lubricants; free dental dams; referrals to supportive services in the community, as well as testing for HIV/Hepatitis C, Syphilis, Chlamydia & Gonorrhea. Testing can be done with a partner.Staff welcomes questions from the public about health-related topics.Counseling and referral concerning Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis, a once a day medication that prevents sexual HIV transmission.

Provides harm reduction services like syringe exchange and health care through our drug user health hub. Offers free disease testing for HIV/Hepatitis C and other sexually transmitted infections. Provides housing, transportation and disease management training for those living with chronic illness. Reentry services for those returning from state prison and the Broome County Jail.
