COOLING CENTERS | NEW YORK STATE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH

Cooling centers are facilities where you can go to cool off during extreme heat. The New York State Department of Health collects information about seasonal cooling centers from local health departments and emergency management offices. Before going to a cooling center, it is important to call ahead to make sure it is open. Some cooling centers are only open during regular business hours and officially declared heat emergencies and extreme heat events.
