PARENT EDUCATION AND CONSULTATION PROGRAM (PECP) | NORTHERN RIVERS FAMILY OF SERVICES
Provides a curriculum-based, psycho-educational group for parents of children and teens who are at risk for placement, are in placement or who have come to the attention of the Department of Social Services.
Focuses on increasing parental understanding of children and teen development, enhancing parenting skills, and changing parental attitudes toward children's behaviors. Classroom and in-home consultation also provided as needed.
Each class consists of a 10 week session, though some groups are longer and run up to 24 weeks. Services are provided from a trauma informed approach and uses an evidence based curriculum.
