ROOSEVELT HIGH SCHOOL - SCHOOL BASED HEALTH CENTER | ROOSEVELT HIGH SCHOOL - SCHOOL BASED HEALTH CENTER
Provides a model of service delivery that ensures comprehensive care to adolescents and improve the overall physical and emotional health of students. The availability of on-site healthcare reduces absenteeism and encourages adolescents to take responsibility for their own well-being. Our School-Based Health Center (SBHC) is licensed health care providers, who collaborate with schools to address the broad range of concerns and adverse experiences that affect students’ healthy development. They work in conjunction with school nurses to provide expanded medical and behavioral health services to students during the school day. At the School-Based Health Center, your child can receive the services at no cost to you, regardless of insurance status. The SBHC is allowed to bill insurance, however there are no co-pays for you, and you do not receive a bill. There is no requirement to transfer care from your primary care provider (PCP). School-Based Health Center Services includes: Complete physical examinations; Medications and prescriptions; Medical laboratory tests; Vaccines and Routine Immunizations; Medical care, including treatment for urgent and chronic conditions; Screening for vision, hearing, asthma, obesity, and other medical conditions; Health Education and Counseling and Mental Health Counseling and Services.
