THRIVING LATINAS | SEPA MUJER

Latinas Prosperando or Thriving Latinas program is for Latina immigrant women who are survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault and/or stalking. Case management, ESL classes, financial literacy, education on housing search options, and workforce development support is provided. Knitting Our Stories - Tejiendo Nuestras Historias, provides a safe space where women can learn to heal from past traumatic experiences through a culturally-adapted support group and art therapy.

Provides free legal services and referrals to Latina women in abusive relationships. Also offers a workshop, the first for Latina women, that is a free five-week course, taught in Spanish only, on leadership and basic legal rights training. Topics include domestic violence, access to medical care and education, and legal rights as workers, parents and spouses. Legal services available to Suffolk County residents. All other services open to Long Island residents. Call for further information.
