COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIP PROGRAM | NASSAU COUNTY DISTRICT ATTORNEY

Community-based resource and referral office that provides social services to the general community, with a focus on young people at risk of gang involvement, as well as the re-entry population and other justice-involved individuals. CPP works on the ground in Hempstead, which has been disproportionately affected by gang and gun violence, to promote the District Attorney’s vision of collaborating with community members to reduce recidivism, educate and empower young people and build a safer community. CPP’s staff facilitate gang intervention/prevention groups for parolees, probationers, and young people, and they provide individual case management to address clients’ needs. CPP’s staff also engage in school-based programming designed to help young people make better choices and avoid circumstances that would lead them into danger. CPP’s services are free and available on a walk-in basis to any member of the community, in English and Spanish. Call for detailed information.
